Secure web browsing with Firefox

Wondering why you're computer still seems to accumulating nasty little bugs when surfing the internet. You still using Internet Explorer?

I'm yet to visit a new client who uses Firefox to browse the web. It's understandable. You buy a computer and what's already installed? Internet Explorer (IE), so why use anything else? Yes there are other options. In the latest browser statistics Firefox has actually over taken IE on the popularity stakes.

Often when I'm asked to build a site for someone I'm inevitabley asked other computer related issues. The most popular being a little something like: "Every time I turn my computer on I get these annoying things pop-up that say...". The first thing I do is get them to do is install Firefox and make sure they stop using Internet Explorer immediately.

A recent article by Security Focus said:
In fact, it's gotten so bad that now spyware creators (AKA, scumbags) are using flaws in IE to surreptitiously install the I-Lookup search bar (or one of several others) into the browser. Again, the user doesn't need to do anything - just visit a Web site or click on a URL in an email. The results? Your home page is changed, a bunch of new bookmarks show up in your Favorites, and popup windows for porn sites open constantly.
